TRIVIA

Poles definitely prefer fish over seafood. The most common fish on their menu is the Alaska pollock – its annual consumption is 2.7 kg per person. They also like to eat herring, mackerel, cod and salmon.

Blue grenadier

contains 15 g of wholesome protein and can be consumed as a full-fledged substitute of red meat or poultry.

Alaska pollock

has low tendency to accumulate mercury. Eating Alaska pollock is recommended for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. It is safe for the fetus - it does not cause harm to its brain or kidneys.

Cod

was the cause of many wars, most recently in the 2nd half of the 20th century. Fortunately there were no casualties. But the diplomatic ties between the UK and Iceland were broken for some time.

Rainbow trout

has tasty, lean meat and is the richest in Omega-3 acids among all freshwater fish.
